If any of you are squeamish, you may want to skip this post because there are some graphic pictures. The Friday before Christmas I had a bad fall and ended up in the emergency room. I had been really tired the whole day, and it was almost dinner time. The girls were playing good together so I told them I was going to lay down on the couch for a few minutes and then fix dinner. Next thing I know I wake up to Ellie screaming. I jumped up, but apparently a little too fast, and I passed out. I did a face plant into the corner of the wall and did a little damage to my teeth. There was blood everywhere, I was hysterical and so were the girls when they saw me and all the blood. I immediately called my parents and told them to come and get me and take me to the hospital. I then called Mike (he was working in Wyoming) and told him what happened and he said he was leaving right then. I called my friend down the street to see if she could come help me. I talked to her, but she wasn't home so she called my other neighbors. The wife stayed with the girls until my in-laws could get there, and the husband took me to meet my parents at the instacare. When we met my parents they said we had to go to the ER because instacare told them there was nothing they could do for me.
My parents took me to the ER and they checked me in and made sure the baby was okay, since that was what I was mostly worried about. They said he was just fine which was a huge sigh of relief. After waiting a couple hours for the oral facial surgeon, he was able to put my face back together. Mike got there right as the surgeon was starting, so he was able to be by my side and help me. The surgeon was able to push my teeth forward, and then he wired each tooth to keep them in place. I have to have the wires on for 6 weeks, and can only eat soft foods. That's something I can deal with if it means my mouth is fixed!!
The surgeon thinks my teeth will make it because he doesn't think any of the roots were fractured. He couldn't tell from the x-ray because of all the wire wrapped around them. He thinks the teeth are only fractured where they attach to the roof of my mouth. Hopefully everything will be okay and my smile will be back to normal!!
Isn't it pretty!!

This was taken 2 days after it happened. My lip, nose and cheeks were so swollen!

This is what my teeth look like now. It amazes me that the surgeon could put them back together so well!
